Empowering ourselves to be the change we need

From Alice Klein: It's exciting to launch this website. So many of us are frustrated with the way our first-past-the-post electoral system has empowered Canada's Conservative anti-environment minority. We can't just wait for electoral reform. Not when the system is robbing the majority of our power to create change, right now. Kevin and I dreamed of creating a new citizenship tool for the political reality of 21st century Canada.

And now, here it is. We hope you enjoy the breadth of information that we have been able to place at your fingertips at VoteforEnvironment.ca.

We present our recommendation for each and every riding in the country but even more important, we place all the facts and numbers, updated daily, at your disposal so that you can see for yourself how to make the most effective choice where you live. Be sure to play with the drop down menu under the bar graph on the riding pages to see how different polling results modify the likely election outcomes.

There are 63 ridings where strategic voting could keep a Conservative out of office. A relatively small shift in votes can make a huge difference in outcome for this election..

This is a volunteer effort. I am sure that there are some problems that will need correcting so bear with us and offer feedback and we will continuously correct, update and improve.
