Endorsement for Orlando

I've spoken with Orlando, and also with a number of his key supporters. He is a smart, hard-working and community-minded candidate. His professional credentials as a lawyer would qualify him for strong contributions to committee work (assuming the institution of parliamentary committees survive the contemptuous treatment they have received recently).
With respect to the riding itself - few are better positioned to benefit from the Green Shift - and few need it more. There is a long tradition of entrepreneurship and innovation in this area - but at the moment many of the associated jobs are tied to an auto industry with deteriorating and uncertain prospects looking forward.
If Federal tax policy stimulates consumer investment in carbon-reducing technology, Kitchener-Conestoga has the people, skills and culture to respond retool, and rehire. Orlando could help connect those dots.
